Kanem Bornu is a medium-sized despotic monarchy in West Africa. Kanem Bornu starts with cores on its neighbor, Yao. They are Sunni of the Maliki school.
Kanem Bornu's neighbors start off with roughly the same base tax, forcelimit, and manpower, but with skillful playing can be beaten. The second "wave" of neighbors, however, are weak and small. This allows Kanem Bornu to expand rapidly once they break out of their start.
Possible Starting Moves
Kanem Bornu's main enemies are 伊奥 and 艾尔, though the fact that they are both fairly far away from most large African states is both a good thing and a bad thing. They will rarely have times of weakness, but they won't have many places to expand, and finding allies for themselves may be difficult. The second point is probably the most important and beneficial for Kanem Bornu. Their main hope rests on this being the case. The player must expand heavily into the eastern, smaller African states (possibly cutting off Air from anyone else) until Kanem Bornu is comfortable with taking on Air and/or Yao. The strategy is quite simple and hinges only on controlling Aggressive Expansion, and being strong enough to defend against Air or Yao with the player's allies. Which brings up another point- ally as many large, nearby nations as possible. This does two things- stopping them from hating Kanem Bornu when they annex half of Africa, as allies only garner negligible amounts of AE. This would then allow the player to expand much more quickly, and when the times come, they can cut off specific allies to attack them individually, instead of gaining a large coalition. These large allies would be: 马里, 廷巴克图, 桑海 even if they are only defensive allies.
